Hey guys! So I figured the site needed a new layout. I loved a lot of the new promotional images for Jacob when Eclipse came out and decided that I would incorporate some of them into the new layout. I hope you like it!
I was able to make a lot of the changes off site, but there are a few areas that I’m still working on so please be patient with me while I finish the changes. Let me know if something is NOT working, though. You’d think that changing the layout won’t affect anything until you go to use it and it’s like “error, error” … lol.
Title: Phoenix Fires Author: Ali Rating: G/K Pairing: Jacob/Leah, unrequited-Jacob/Bella Summary: You think that falling together is marginally better than alone, eyes locked together, arms spread like if your fingertips find each other maybe the ground won’t hurt so hard … It always does. Read it
My Reason: This just hurt. Beautiful, poetic, emotional hurt. Short and bittersweet.
For the Humor
Title: Figure It Out Author: thunder skies Rating: PG-13/T Pairing: Jacob/Leah Summary: Leah hoped he didn’t notice how fearful she sounded. It didn’t seem like he did, because Jacob didn’t even blink. “No, of course we’re not,” he replied calmly, perfectly at ease. Bastard. She was practically a nervous wreck over here, and he had the nerve to be peaceful. Post Breaking Dawn. Jacob and Leah have a talk about imprinting, true love, and other such things. Read it
My Reason: Jacob and Leah are in character and oh so real in this one. Just their usual sarcastic and witty selves. Who can say no?
Here is a snippet from the Fan Junket Stephenie Meyer did. I’m glad that some people are starting to understand Jacob because, let’s face it, he’s the man. To listen to the actual audio or read the rest of the script, go here.
LT: I hate when people say they don’t…like, they read New Moon but they don’t read it in like a second reading because they hate when he’s [Edward] gone. And I’m like, “Second time through is when you get it!” You have to go through…
(chatter)
Kassie: I read it again and I still didn’t like it!
(laughter & chatter)
SM: Well, you have to have a small part of your heart open for the best friend. If you give him a chance, which not everyone did…
Kallie: When they cast Taylor Lautner it gave her [Kassie] a little bit bigger…
Kassie: It made him (Jacob) a little bit better.
SM: See, and I love Taylor. He’s really sweet. He brought kinda that element that I feel like Jacob needed where you see the nice kid who’s really trying. You know he screws up because he’s a dumb teenage boy, but he’s trying. He wants good things. His motivations are very good all along.
Kallie: I did have to…I had to confess to her [Kassie] after re-reading Eclipse that she [Kassie] was right in some ways about Jacob! I love Jacob, but after reading Eclipse…
(chatter)
SM: And he’s someone…And there’s something that I think rarely comes across, which is that, you know we all love the vampires, right? We know the Cullens. We know they’re good people. We know that they’re not what Jacob thinks and so we don’t give him any credit. We think that he’s being…[That he’s] hating them even knowing the good in them, and that’s not true. He really feels like they are the way that we kind of feel about um…My brain is so messed up…
From the very beginning, even when Jacob only appeared in chapter six of Twilight, he was so alive. I liked him. More than I should for such a small part. Bella liked him. Her instinctive trust and affection came without my intervention. And it wasn’t just us; my agent did, too. “I love that Jacob kid,” Jodi said (or something to that effect-this all happened in 2003). My editor agreed. “Can we get more Jacob in the story?” Megan asked.
